After morning roll call the prisoners would be given their morning 'meal' – imitation coffee or herbal 'tea'. For lunch prisoners would be given a liter of watery soup. If they were lucky, they might find a piece of turnip or potato peel.

It was a network of German Nazi concentration camps and extermination camps built and operated by the Third Reich in Polish areas annexed by Nazi Germany during World War II.

On arrival at concentration camps prisoners had their clothing taken away, often to be replaced by a striped uniform with a yellow star if the victim was a jew. Men would wear a vest, trousers, hat and coat.

Block 11 was the name of a brick building in The Auschwitz concentration camp. The Block was in the so-called Stammlager (Auschwitz I main camp) and was intended solely to punish prisoners through torture.
